Madeleine McCann was three years old when she went missing two weeks ago from the apartment she and her family were staying in, while holidaying in Portugal.
i will download it today, yes, i really hope that she comes back. not only is it hard for her, but also i can not start to think how the family must be thinking. thank you for posting this, and let's hope for a safe return
could we ask admin/a cl to put a link to this poster at the top of the homepage? that way everyone who visits the site, regardless of whether they log on or even come here, will see the link to Madeleine's poster.
I can't help but think her parents have done away with her most people are taken or killed by someone familiar, who else did she know out there. It's weird, and I can't look at these people, without thinking why aren't the police investigating you two.
if you havent' got anything nice to say, shut up!
Okay so I imagine that a member of my family has gone missing, specifically my favorite member of my family. I imagine it and imagine it, so it's as if it's actually happening. Throughout imagining it, I don't think that somebody who has never met me can bring my relative back simply by downloading a poster, so I don't bother creating some poster for people to download to their computers. I realise that to do so would just be a stupid that's right stupid waste of time, and I want to find my relative. Then I get a message from the pope inviting me to the Vatican. I wonder why he's inviting me, then I realise it's because my relative is missing. In other words, he wouldn't go to the trouble of inviting me to be his guest if my relative wasn't missing. Why does the pope only take an interest in me if my relative goes missing? I could ask him if I go, but I've got to concentrate on the hunt for my relative. So with these two ideas dismissed, suddenly a third idea comes along. Somebody will make a song and it'll be played on all commercial radio stations on a bank holiday monday, even though the recent listening figures show that more people listen to BBC radio in the UK. I'd feel total relief if I was so stupid that I believed that my relative would suddenly be found if a song was played.
The only question I have following all of these attempts to find the poor girl, is what stupid idea will be implemented next?
This is a sad situation.
I hope they find this girl well.
In saying that, I do have to agree with speedy somewhat. I mean come on why the hell were these
kids left alone. I don't care how near they were and how often they were checking on them. Obviously these kids are way too young to fend for themselves.
What if there was a fire, all of them would be gone. Sad that parenst put the children in this situation. I'm not saying the parents have something
to do with it. but they sure could have prevented it from happening as easy. Yeah, kids are taken all the time with parents right there. But, in this
situation they left it open for a napper, no adults in the area! I do hope they find this girl soon and well!
we can all give our opinions on this one. But what it comes down to is this girl needs to be braught home safely! I'm sure the parents are suffering
and realize what they did shouldn't have been. But there's nothing they can do to change it now!

ah yeh, obviously I hope she is found safe and well too. But I again fail to see what downloading a poster is going to do, like Senior suggests.
it's just like all those forwards in the past saying "do this to help her cancer etc.) what on earth can people do over the internet?
and yeh I also believe it was pretty stupid leaving a four-year old alone while on holiday. but then, we don't really know the situation there properly.
i guess they think that the more they get her picture and story out. The more people will look into it. If people see her poster and recognize her from down the street, the easier she can be found. It can and has happened. We all know the napper could have fleed anywhere. So if people are on the look out. The more it will help in a safe return home.

In the states we have what is called "The Amber Alert." No it isn't for Cala either. When a child goes missing, road signs flash details about the last known wherabouts of said child. Also automated phone messages are sent to the area where the child was last seen in some radius of the location of said child. Putting a face to the child will no doubt make it easier for identification of said child. It is a most powerful net to brink children home. If my loved one goes missing I will go to any lengths including posting a poster on line, on milk cartons, post offices, songs, television, hell if it would work I would go as far as to higher a sky writer. What these parents did was horrible and I am not saying I don't find fault with them. I don't know their guilt or innocense if the police think them not guilty of the disappearance that's fine with me because I don't know all the details. I don't agree with the choices the parents made leading up to the napping, but what is done is done.

If I had a child and it went missing, I'd appeal for its release, relase photographs of it, and conduct my own door-to-door search of houses, even if it took months. I'd search every house in the country it went missing, every house in nearby countries, and every house in the world if that was the only way of locating the child. I wouldn't care how long it took, how much it cost, how difficult it was, I'd keep on going, and I'd never give up until the child was found.
Firstly, the idea of a poster is to spread Madeleine’s image as far as possible to increase the chances of someone seeing her and recognizing her and alerting the authorities. Well that was the initial idea anyway. I do think that a poster campaign is now pointless though as, if Madeleine is still alive, she almost certainly won’t resemble that little girl any more, her hair will almost certainly have been cut/died to make her look different.
Secondly yes, what on earth were her parents thinking to leave three small children unattended in an apartment on the ground floor. I have a 4 year old and there is no way on this earth that I would leave him in a hotelroom while I went to dinner, not because I would fear that he might be abducted, that’s something which I probably wouldn’t even consider to be honest as abduction is so incredibly rare, but what if he woke up and found I wasn’t there and went looking for me. If he didn’t find me in the apartment he might wander out and then what? Once a child wanders out of the apartment they are essentially in a public place, on their own, and wouldn’t even know where to begin looking for their parents. And in a complex like that there are other dangers, the road which was next door to the building, the swimming pool, these are risks that aren’t even worth considering. I feel for the Mccanns and I wouldn’t wish what they are going through on my worst enemy, but I think that leaving their three small children unattended like that is highly irresponsible.
As to whether the Mccanns actually had a hand in their daughter’s disappearance, to be honest I don’t know what to think about that. Having seen them on television Kate Mccann in particular is in bits and I highly doubt that she could have had anything to do with this. But I do think there is something very strange about this whole case. The fact that someone watched the family, clearly targeted this particular child, given that there were younger children in the room who would have been easier to snatch, and who would have forgotten and adapted more easily, took the opportunity to go into the apartment when they knew that the family weren’t there. It just doesn’t tie in with the idea of a random abduction. So why? Why this particular child? Why not one of the twins? Why plan to abduct a child from a holiday resort when there are probably easier places to snatch a child? It doesn’t make sense to me.
When Kate Mccann discovered that Madeleine was missing she apparently called out “they’ve taken Madeleine”. Who are “they?”? That seems a very strange thing to say. “madeleine’s gone/madeleine’s been taken” but “they’ve taken Madeleine”? As if she knew of a threat to her family/her daughter.
I don’t necessarily think that the McCanns were involved but I do think that whoever took Madeleine is someone who is known to, or knows of, the family.
Claire I totaly agree with you. The first thing that came to mind was the leaving them alone. As i stated in an earlier post. These kids are way to young to know what to do in a serious situation. What if, god forbid, there was a fire and it started in there room. Not just one, but all the kids would be gone. I also don't get why they took her and not the others. And why they targeted just this room. They sure had to know the parents weren't around. I just think it's weird they took one and the oldest one at that. Like you said and I have said before, the younger ones would have been an easier target! But, I guess we never know what goes on in these freaks head. Poor girl.
